- Welcome to Little Learners -

Gentle guided learning for 5-8 year old homeschoolers.

Every Tuesday morning we are opening the studio doors to a small group of homeschoolers for a relaxed 3 hours of gentle learning, focusing on literacy and numeracy aligned with the Australian Curriculum. Beth, a qualified and experienced primary school teacher, will help guide children with some focused activities. These sessions will begin with a simple story to help set the theme for the week. We will move into some written activities to assist with deep vocabulary, punctuation and sentence structure. We will also be building our numeracy skills through hands on resources, games and puzzles. Activities offered are optional for children- they will not be made to complete set work, but simply be guided through interactive learning experiences. These sessions are great for those children that require a bit of structure and for parents wanting to touch base with qualified educators on how their child is progressing through the curriculum. These are drop&go sessions, giving you the chance of a few hours of uninterrupted time. Parents- please don’t feel that you need to take 100% of the responsibility with homeschooling!

A bit about Beth

Beth is a Sunshine Coast local. She is wife and a mother of two very active little boys. She holds a bachelor of Early Education and Human Resources. After completing her degrees she began her teaching in Mackay in a range of grades from prep-year 3. During her time teaching, Beth recognised how stagnant the mainstream education system has become over the last few decades. She questioned many of the teaching strategies being encouraged and identified that the academic expectations started to build high pressure in such overcrowded classrooms. She was blessed with her first child, Theo. And after becoming a mother it just further highlighted that the current system isn’t adequately prepping children for their future in this world.

Combining her experience in the classroom and the Australian curriculum with her hopes and dreams for her own children, Beth is trying to meet the structured education half way. She has identified that some children really thrive off routine and have this deep drive for academic learning. While there are so many amazing offerings here on the coast for creative and nature based activities, she would love to offer parents that reassurance and guidance when working with more structured education. If you think that your child would benefit with some guided learning time, she is more than happy to assist!

Children will need to come along with a drink bottle, light snacks for morning tea and be dressed in comfy clothes that they can easy move around in. For the safety of your child and the other children attending, swearing and non-compliance will not be tolerated. If this is to occur parents/guardians will be called and required to return ASAP. Children are supervised at all times, however please be understanding that accidents can occur. We must be notified in writing of any medication and allergies. Please be as timely as possible. We are not responsible for children after the session has concluded.

Be mindful when completing your booking as refunds cannot be given for cancellations.
